Grow and Care for Jasmine Flower Plant
When to plant: Planting a jasmine is simple. Put them in the ground between June and November, as they bloom in the spring and fall.
Where to plant: Jasmine is hardy in USDA zones 7-10, which roughly translates to southern states and the west coast.
Sunlight: Jasmine grows in full sun to partial shade.
Soil: Plant jasmine in organically rich, well-draining, constantly moist soil. The pH should be between 6.5 to 7.5.
Water: Jasmine planted in gardens should be watered once a week. Water potted jasmine 2 to 3 times a week.

What is the difference between Jessamine and Jasmine?
Jasmine and Jessamine are two different plants that are often confused with each other because of their similar names and appearance. Both are evergreen vines with fragrant and showy flowers. However, jasmine blooms later and is less cold-hardy.
Why is my jasmine not flowering?
There could be any number of culprits, from insufficient sunlight to improper pruning and environmental stress. The most common reasons why jasmine doesn’t flower are over-fertilization and nutrient deficiencies. Over-fertilization can lead to excessive nitrogen in the soil, which promotes foliage growth at the expense of blooms. To remedy this, add phosphorus to the soil.
Can I grow my jasmine plant in a container?
Yes, you can absolutely grow jasmine plants in containers. In fact, it's a popular choice for home gardeners who have limited space or want to control the plant's growth.
