Sleek Silvery Hues on a Timeless Evergreen
Why Colorado Blue Spruce Trees?
With silvery blue-green tones year-round, a sleek pyramidal silhouette, and straightforward, no-nonsense care, the Colorado Blue Spruce Tree ticks all the boxes of a landscape must-have. Its columnar shape and stiff, crisp needles set it apart from other evergreen varieties. Not to mention that its deer resistant and drought tolerant!
And when it comes to planting and care, the Colorado couldn’t be easier to maintain. This well-known beauty withstands wind better than most spruces because it boasts a widespread, deeper root system. Plus, it’s long-lived (seriously…it can last hundreds of years!) and provides food and shelter for graceful wildlife, like siskins, crossbills, and nuthatches.
Even better? It adapts well to a variety of soils, from acidic to clay, and requires normal moisture with moderate tolerance to drought. Also, with a manageable growth rate of 12 to 24 inches per year, it’s easy to acclimate to your landscape with its uniform growth and symmetrical branching.
Basically, the Colorado Blue Spruce Tree is not just your typical evergreen – especially since its needles are 95% blue. Whether you’re looking for an all-natural privacy screen or windbreak, these Spruces are ideal for planting in a row and are the best selection for container growing. A festive twist in the form of light brown, 3 to 4-inch cones concentrated in the upper crown makes it a delightful backyard beauty during the holidays and beyond.

Colorado Blue Spruce
This tree was beautiful when it arrived. It had a ton of new growth on it. Looks great in our yard.
Looking Good
I planted 2 Colorado Blue Spruces in our pet cemetery a few weeks ago. They are looking good. We live in western North Carolina, zone 7.
Very nice Colorado Blue Spruce trees
I received my four Colorado blue spruce trees today. They were each approx 4 feet tall and very healthy looking. I don’t know they survived shipping as they were very heavy, packed two to a box. The boxes were struggling to stay together, but nonetheless all was well when I opened them. I immediately planted and watered them, and now it’s just wait and see how they do. I am very pleased with the quality of these trees.
Perfect size to plant myself and not be tiny
So happy with this purchase! This was my first experience with Fast Growing Trees, so I first ordered only 1 blue spruce to see if was as good as billed. It was, and so I ordered 20 more, all the 3-4’ size. Some were better than others, but all look good. Shipping experience was so so, but that seems more on FedEx than a result of packaging. 2 trees were in each box and well strapped down. Planted them as a border to my property. Size was perfect so that we could plant ourselves without hiring a landscaper or requiring a tractor. Rented an auger to make the job easier. I will definitely order from FGT again in the future.
Green Blue spruces
I received my 1st one and it was very green, not a Blue spruce. I wrote & told them my dilemma and they sent me another green{blue} spruce. Again, I wrote and asked if everyone was color blind. They told me to wait it will turn blue. It has now been 3 months and they look very green no blue whatsoever. So now I have two green, blue spruces.
