Easy, Container-Grown Harvests in 2 Years or Less

Why LSU Purple Fig Trees?

For a hardy tree that delivers super-sweet fruit with little effort, look no further than the LSU Purple Fig Tree. Bred by the Louisiana State University College of Agriculture for superior disease resistance and delicious fruit, the LSU Purple Fig is ideal for those who want easy growth and the promise of harvests from home.

And the LSU Fig produces fruit as early as the second year! Most fig trees take four to five years to reach full maturity and set fruit, but the LSU Purple Fig is capable of setting small crops of figs in its second or third year. Plus, with our bigger sizes, you could get fruit as soon as the very first growing season.

You can enjoy figs from April through December, indoors or out. Unlike other trees, the LSU Purple Fig has three fruiting seasons: a light crop in early spring, a large main crop in July and a late crop in November or even early December. This prolific bearer will have you eating sweet, healthy figs almost year-round, drying your own fruit for storage or making jams and preserves. With the sweet LSU Purple, the possibilities are endless, especially since it grows in a container...thriving wherever you place it. It's particularly well-suited to the Southeast and grows despite humid, hot conditions.

Why Fast-Growing-Trees.com is Better

When you order your LSU Purple Fig Tree, you get the promise of healthy growth, delivered right to your door. Other nurseries or big box stores sell their weakest stock – trees that often die once they’re in your home or yard. But we ship our best…trees we’ve nurtured and cultivated with hassle-free benefits, a better root system, more developed branching and the ability to fruit quickly.

Now, you’ll enjoy the fruits of your labor, effortlessly. No matter how you use them, LSU Purple Figs are easy to grow and are grown for greatness from day one at our nursery. Get your own LSU Fig today!

Beautiful tree and stellar customer service

When my beautiful FIG trees arrived, one had leaves open but also a break in the middle of the stem. It had to have happened during packing since the box Fast Growing Trees used to ship was SOLID and my trees beautifully nestled in the box!! I reached out to customer service, sent them a picture of the break and they sent me a new plant!! Again in a super solid box and very well packaged. The new LSU Purple fig was in perfect shape with leaves already open. Both trees are thriving, budding out and happy! I kept the broken plant (it had 5 inches of stem left below the break), made a clean cut and it now has over 9 leaf buds!! Proof that FGT offers super healthy, perfect trees that thrive - even with the top gone! Feel secure in ordering from this company - they truly deliver the best!!

    Still too early to tell

Received tree on Oct 20. Very sad looking with browning leaves and main branch broken. Contacted FGT and they sent a replacement right away. Replacement survived winter outdoors while the branches in the original tree dried out. Replacement hasn't put out any new growth yet. Still too early to tell how the tree will do.

    Slowly but surely growing

It was quite small, it has been a year, still no fruit but hopefully it will provide some figs this year.
