Flavorful Peaches That Grow Nearly Anywhere
Why Contender Peach Trees?
When it comes to growing peaches, the mark of a winner is the diversity of the areas where they can grow – and the Contender Peach Tree is no exception. With excellent cold hardiness and tolerance to the occasional late spring frosts, it's one of the few peach varieties that will flourish in northern regions.
And in a short time, large velvety peaches will emerge from the Contender's branches like nature's work of art. Plus, this tree’s succulent, ripe peaches delight with each juicy bite. One taste and you'll know why the Contender is considered the most flavorful and fresh peach available. Even better? Unlike other peach varieties, this hardy tree produces a reliably delicious fruit that won't go brown on you before its time.

Exactly what I Needed
Planted in the summer, survived the long utah weather, and looking amazing in the spring. Looking forward to the fruit.
My trees arrived in perfect
My trees arrived in perfect condition with leaves and blossoms in full swing. Still too cold to transfer them, but I’m looking forward to getting them planted!
What a wonderful tree!
Bought and planted my Contender peach in Spring of ‘22. I removed the small peaches that were growing when it arrived to let it focus its energy on root and branch growth. It flowered wonderfully this spring, with most flowers being pollinated. I thinned the fruits down to every 8 inches, which I think was still not enough. Got new branch growth all over, with most new branches growing from 12 to 18 inches. I got at least 3 dozen peaches still on such a small tree. I had to support a branch or two so they wouldn’t bend too much. The fruit was sweet and tasty and so juicy. I look forward to late winter pruning to help shape the tree for better fruiting, and to those yummy juicy peaches! Thank you Fast Growing Trees!
not yet sure
Until the last two purchases, everything from Fast Growing Trees has been astonishingly outstanding. The tree THIS tree replaced, was sent with an apparent fungus (that I hope has not contaminated all my other fruit trees). Via warranty from the fungus infected peach tree, this Contender was sent. The first Contender, planted a couple of years ago, came FULL of leaves and has blossomed in growth and had about 4 dozen peaches this year! This contender came with half of it's leaves in the bottom of the box, some of the remaining leaves curled and some of them with spots - just like the previous "fungus infected" tree. Customer service assures me that this tree appears to have suffered from a hot delivery ride, as the curled leaves and dropping of leaves suggest. I appreciate the fact that notes have been made in case in the spring it continues to have problems. I planted and took a picture with the few remaining leaves left on it. I am a little shocked that I paid extra for a larger tree and it is so small, but won't complain about that as long as it comes back healthy in the spring. I am overall very satisfied with all my fruit trees and fruit bushes - and customer service is very willing to please. So....here's to keeping our fingers crossed!
Mixed varieties
I bought 2 contender peaches last year, and I got my first harvest this week. Unfortunately, I received one contender peach and another variety of peach (a white one), which is unfortunate because I meant to have two for better pollination. Anyway, the trees have been very healthy, and the peaches are juicy and delicious. I am impressed that with zero experience growing trees in NM, I was able to have a good harvest only after one year. I just fertilized, pruned, and watered. Not a single spray for bugs or diseases, and they are 100% healthy. Just lost a few peaches from birds.
